Did you guys see it?
The biggest, brightest shining Moon in 52 years, on 09 Feb 2009.
The Moon came closer to Earth during its full phase than at any other time in 2009.
The Moon does not orbit Earth in a perfect circle. Instead, it follows an elliptical path that brings it 50,000 kilometres closer to our planet on one side of its orbit (called perigee) than the other (apogee). The Moon reached perigee tonight, coming within 357,500 kilometres of Earth.
It about 14% bigger and 30% brighter than typical full Moons.
This photo is taken around 7.30pm at Green Road area.
Another shot, just in case.
Taken at around 10.30pm, around Hui Sin Garden area.
Unusual bright.
